Summer is finally in full swing and everyone has holidays on the brain. Luckily, there are many truly stunning locations to visit on our doorstep. We’ve found some of the best places to take your motorhome this summer.

North

If you live in the North of the United Kingdom and don’t want to make a trip abroad this year, pick up the keys to your motorhome and head over to the picturesque town of Whitby. The town boasts numerous campsites that accommodate motorhomes, and many of the views from these sites are not to be missed! Whitby Showground, for example, has a spectacular view of Whitby Abbey, so a pitch at the Showground is the perfect location for heritage buffs. Pitch prices at Whitby Showground start from £20 for one night, and the site is open all year round. Explore all that Whitby has to offer, including coastal cruises, an open-top bus tour, various parks, and walking routes, and many more activities that will entertain the whole family.

South

If you live in the South, Brighton is a great option for a holiday. Pack your bags, start up your motorhome and drive down and explore all that the vibrant city has to offer. Brighton is a loved location for those with motorhomes, and there are many sites that have motorhome pitches around the city. Brighton Caravan Club is just 2 miles east of Brighton and offers motorhome pitches from 15.20 a night. It is an ideal location for families, pets, and those wanting to be close to the beach. Whilst in Brighton, head down to the coast for ice cream and a visit the famous Brighton Palace Pier, a stunning example of a Victorian pleasure pier. If you’re a nature buff, the Sea Life Centre is for you. If seeing beautiful aquatic life wasn’t enough, it’s the oldest operating aquarium in the world!

France

If you’re wanting to travel further afield with your motorhome, and you’re feeling a bit adventurous, why not hop on over to France? With the option to quickly cross the channel by Eurotunnel or by ferry, you could be sunning yourself on a French beach in no time! Carnac is a stunning location in the north of France that can’t be missed during the summer months. The drive from Le Havre to Carnac is approximately four hours and takes you through the breathtaking French countryside. Many of the campsites in and around Carnac have outdoor pools and some even have spa facilities. Prices for a pitch at Le Moustoir, a site a couple of miles outside of Carnac, start at approximately £19 per night. The town boasts a beautiful beach and isn’t as busy as other popular French beach resorts, so you’ll actually be able to find a spot to place your towel on the beach!
